Custom Shooter Ready MYTH

Custom Shooter Ready MYTH

It's not very often that something comes into your life and changes the way you have done things for 30+ years and leaves you with egg on your face. Up until April this year I was a die hard 308 fan and don't get me wrong the 308 is a fantastic caliber, but as time goes by things evolve and improve. It all started in March with a conversation with Dave McBeth from Shooter Ready based in Cambridge . I needed some ammo for our existing rifles as we had a group of hunters from Texas coming over for the roar in April, but Dave said he had another option for us to use. Because it was the roar, and we only shoot trophy animals at that time of year, we need some serious knockdown power. So I was thinking maybe he's rigged up a 300 win mag or 7mm rem mag, but no he rocked up with a 6.5 Creedmoor or commonly known by the uneducated as a gaymoor or needmoor. The timing couldn't have been better as Thomas and Josh from Texas knew their stuff about dial up scopes and long range shooting and taught me so much about the finer points of the rifle with Thomas taking multiple animals with the most impressive being a red stag shot in the neck at 475 yards in the neck and a magpie at 325 yards. Since their visit the gun has accounted for over 160 clean kills from 50 yards to 550 yards and the youngest hunter being 7 and the oldest being 83. The gun has been custom built by Dave and has a pristine action from Canada a Criterion barrel turned down and torque sleeved with carbon fiber and Nano carbon creations stock and is topped off with a VX5 HD Leupold scope. I would have no problem taking this gun into the bush to shoot deer at 30 yards or up in the high country to shoot thar at 500 yards. It's the real deal and our dozens of hunters will attest to this so if you're keen on one go and see @davemcbeth or @christinamcbeth from Shooter Ready at their booth at the @sika.show
